Museum Accreditation

Every three years Accredited museums have to reapply to the Arts Council and prove that they are still worthy of retaining the national standard. The Flintham Museum reapplied in October 1916 and heard a year later that we had been assessed as fulfilling all the relevant elements of the Accreditation scheme.

The museum was runner up in the 'Totally Voluntary' category of the East Midlands Heritage Awards held on 9 November 2017. We were awarded a certificate for our project 'Remembering the 1960s' where we have been working with people who have dementia, their carers and hospital staff.
